The Crescent, Buttershaw Estate, Bradford, West Yorkshire UK winter 1982. May 22nd 2017 sees the BFI release a 2k restored version of the original Super 16mm film of Rita Sue and Bob Too, by the late Andrea Dunbar, directed by Alan Clarke. Filmed on the Buttershaw Council estate in 1987 where Andrea was raised, these black and white images from 1982 portray the gritty surroundings of a typical northern working class sink estate. The Crescent flats are now demolished along with those of the Boulevard and have been replaced with modern housing.
